Branding for a Japanese dessert cafe

Betsubara is a Japanese dessert cafe I conceptualised as part of a mock brief, where i challenged myself to create my dream restaurant/cafe.

Taking inspiration from traditional Japanese mochi shops and adding a modern twist. I wanted to reflect some of the playful colours you find with mochi, so i picked a soft pink to represent the brand as well as a simple pattern of rough circles, mimicking traditional Japanese patterned garments and fabrics.

Taking advantage of a social media dominated age where content is as important as the food itself, I wanted to imagine a brand that would be striking visually with bright colours and a strong theme. Transporting customers into a dreamy version of olden Japan where colours and flavours are vibrant and eye catching and every dish is a moment to capture.
